Adachi-Ward is one of the 23 wards in Tokyo. Arakawa River flows through it and some smaller rivers that helped develop the history and culture of this area. Watersides are an important area for some creatures because of their diversity. However, as a result of modernization, this diversity is no longer familiar to our way of life. So, we started up a project on rediscovering the attraction of watersides; Mizube Project. We cooperated with three facilities in Adachi-Ward, and constructed a network. Environmental education programs were held in three different parks this past summer in 2013. Each program contained the same content but a different type of water. The purpose of the program is to promote understanding of a waterside’s environment and raise the level of respect and admiration for watersides. We will evaluate the program from questionnaires and investigate the possibility of our network.
